ABC Wrapt With Love Knit-In 2012

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the ABC's 10th anniversary of Wrapt with Love at their Ultimo studios held on Friday 3rd August.
Took my Mum, but left her with her knitting group who had gathered a space together, amongst the 100's of knitters. I wandered around, chatting and taking lots of photos of interesting "characters", young & old. Fascinating!
Met these two lovely ladies plonked on the floor, in a walkway (which was quite "the norm" as the ABC was packed!) Adored this crochered beret with pansies sewn on it. Gorgeous!
Young & old, school kids, yep boys too! This is just one of the 3 rooms of knitters. Not counting the Foyer, and down the Entrance lobby area, where the stage was set up.
Now this lovely lady, Frances, said her Mum knitted this jumper for her about 30 yrs ago. I love it; so iconic of Aussie!     Very "Jenny Kee" almost, of Flamingo Park days!

This is my Mum, all coloured co-ordinated (aka "matchy-matchy" !) hiding under her wonderful cap!
All sorts of rugs draped over chairs and knees...
This is my favourite piece of the day! How divine & clever is this handbag!? I want it! Handmade by a lady in her 80's I believe. She knits them for friends....I wanna be her friend!!

This year more people wore unusual designs, more so than last year. This fabulous skirt took my eye; great colours.

Dick Smith waiting his turn....very stern....
Angela Catterns interviewing the school kids. She started the whole ABC involvement 10 yrs ago, not expecting it to grow so huge; 1000 knitters turning up!

They came, they sat, they knitted

How cute is this little guy, cuddling Lady Ba Ba..!

They came from near & far, boys & girls, these students from Pennant Hills High.

Market Day at Sutherland Hospital

Some styles in the retro resin brooches are still available. Meanwhile the SuperTramp LP bag has sold (one young guy thought she was Susan Boyle!!) Got a lot of mileage out of that story!

This bag is one of my best sellers; it comes in a fabulous lime/orange/navy combo & lilac/beige combo. Selling out fast!
An assortment of scarves, ranging from $10 to $30. Soft muslin to lambswool.
Elvis has left the table (he sold straight away!) but I still have some resin necklaces in various colours and a crystal necklace left.
Here's a lovely selection of accessories I had for sale at the recent fundraiser at Sutherland Hospital. The markets are held once a month & the staff, visitors & patients love to come & shop. Check my web-site for various hospital markets that I attend. http://www.recycology.vpweb.com.au/

More "This Goes With That"

Heres a selection of the fabulous finds I discovered on the Easter Sunday market!

Glorious sunny day! Couldn't believe all the bargains I found (well, I DO have an uncanny knack to sniff out a bargain!!) How well they all mix and match together!            Sub-concious buying?

Pure silk LISA HO bias-cut dress teams beautifully with this charcoal silk velvet SABA jacket

Over exposed shot, but shows off the rouche detail on the yoke and pockets.

Pure silk fuscia ruffle shirt which goes with everything!

Pop it over the Lisa Ho silk dress.Great for travelling; no ironing needed! (In my previous "this goes with that" blog I feature a Carla Zampatti fuscia silk top. One of my favourite colours)

Ahh, I just love this double layer tulle petti in soft pink, with an ever-so soft apricot tulle underlay. The petti can go under or over so much; take a look!

How pretty is this combination!

Pop the tulle over the Lisa Ho

Karen Millen UK, net & silk chiffon applique mini, featuring bronze bugle beads around the waist & hips.

Close-up detail of the silk devore cross-over jacket.

I found 2 of these satin wiggle dresses. The other is black. They have a deep V back, and pussy-cat bow trim at back waist. Very cute and sexy! Teamed the purple dress with the raffia bag.

Sweet blue floral cotton day dress, with a black net petti attached! This never-used handbag looks great with the dress.

Now how matchy is this handbag to the dress?! But I like it matchy (that's the old school in me) The cats-eye torty sunnies and bangles complete the look.

Pucci, Gucci, Fiorucci! We used to chant that back in the 70's. Oops, giving away my age! This dress is a "keeper" for me; I have chocolate suede knee-high boots, & also orange/teal ankle boots which will match this fabulous dress that comes from New York.

1960's Ninette of Melbourne black cocktail dress with diamonte detail trim. This is for sale in my shop at the Vintage Fashion Emporium, Sydney Antique Ctr, Surry Hills.

Who needs to travel the world when you can pick up all these labels at one market!

I bought 2 different styles in this black pure silk "Little Joe, New York" label. Too excited to iron them before photographing them!

There's the tulle petti again! It goes over everything!

Not one, but 6 pairs of cats-eye retro sunnies! These (similar) sold out at my recent Love Vintage Show in Sydney, so I was thrilled to find more; have already sold a pair via Facebook. (I just love being the Hunter and Gatherer for the time-poor shoppers out there!)

And how cute do they look with the raffia & bamboo handbag, torty bangle & retro resin orange bangle. Please come and visit my shop in the Sydney Antique Ctr, or visit my web-site to find locations of my market stalls around Sydney. Thank you for visiting my blog too!
